I was stoked to interview and photograph Graeme Clarke from Wet Wet Wet at a bar in Brighton! My parents played their music all the time when I was a kid, so it was awesome to meet one of the guys who wrote and performed the soundtrack to my childhood..! I shot this band over a year ago, but they’ve since gone through some line up changes. They’d come down from Manchester, and after spending the day recording some tracks in the studio, we had little over an hour to do this shoot….before they raced off to a music video shoot! The champagne shot was really fun to try again (we did the same in their original images last year and it was requested again!), although my strip boxes got soaked and needed a decent clean afterwards!
Here’s a few images from a recent shoot I did with Brighton-based three-piece The MP3s. I did their previous promo images last year, but they’ve since had some line up changes.
Frontman Dan chose a location with loads of graffiti and bright colours, and had a few ideas he wanted to try out. I set up my gear, and the guys worked out their clothes and left their bags to one side. All was going well until a homeless guy surreptitiously crouched down next to where the guys left their bags. Suspicious, Ben went over to pick up his jacket, where the homeless guy had miraculously “found” his wallet..! Fortunately, he disappeared soon after being caught and we were able to get the shots we wanted..!
Here’s some of the final photos from a shoot I did with Brighton function band The Indie Killers! We shot these at Bohemia in Brighton, a location I’ve shot at a lot this year. There’s loads of interesting decor in the different areas of the bar, and the staff are always really helpful and nice.

Wet Wet Wet are doing a greatest hits tour in December this year, so hopefully I’ll get to shoot one of those gigs too!
A couple of weeks ago, I did a portrait shoot with Nigerian-born Brighton-based rapper/model Gerrald. I hadn’t met Gerrald before shooting, but he was a natural in front the camera, and it was difficult to choose which shots to edit! It was nice to finally get outside and do a shoot in natural light đŸ™‚
The Easter weekend kicked off to a good start on Friday with Cage The Gods’ first headline show in Brighton. Sticky Mike’s isn’t my favourite Brighton venue to shoot at since there’s no photo pit and it can be very dark, but it was a good show and it was nice to see the guys play on their home turf! I shot this set with my new 50mm f/1.4 lens, which I looooved for a recent engagement shoot I did but I think I’ll stick to my 24-70 2.8 in future for gigs.
A couple of weeks ago, I was photographing some wrestlers! These guys were wrestling at an event in Peacehaven, so whilst they were warming up, I went along to do some portraits of a couple of the guys.
