PROMO: Cage The Gods

Back at the end of last month, I did a new promo shoot with Cage The Gods. These guys are currently on tour with Northern Irish rockers The Answer and Aussie three-piece Tracer, and they needed new promo images after a change in drummers. I’ve been covering part of the tour, so we’ll be putting together a collection of On Tour photographs, but for now check out the final three promo shots. The main image is a composite – each of the guys was shot separately and then merged together in Photoshop. Then we headed outside to get some less posed shots. The band’s debut EP ‘Favourite Sin’ is available at gigs only at the moment. The full album will be released next year..!

LIVE! Tracer + Cage The Gods

On Monday (June 2013), I was with Cage The Gods in London. They’re currently on a 5-date tour with Aussie rockers Tracer across the UK. CTG’s backstage area was the ladies toilets, so we hung out there for a bit before the show! NJ thought it’d be a good idea for Mitch to climb up on top of the speakers during their first single ‘Bruce Willis’ but during a practise run pre-gig, Mitch realised the only problem might be getting back down! The audience loved it though, and the guys got great feedback. Tracer hit the stage afterwards and were awesome too – frontman Michael took inspiration from Mitch and climbed up on the other speaker stack 😉 We took some photos of CTG with friends and fans, then helped Tracer load out their gear; at the Scala everything’s up two flights of stairs! LIVE: Cage The Gods

The Easter weekend kicked off to a good start on Friday with Cage The Gods’ first headline show in Brighton. Sticky Mike’s isn’t my favourite Brighton venue to shoot at since there’s no photo pit and it can be very dark, but it was a good show and it was nice to see the guys play on their home turf! I shot this set with my new 50mm f/1.4 lens, which I looooved for a recent engagement shoot I did but I think I’ll stick to my 24-70 2.8 in future for gigs.
